The real problem

A four-week program is not a long-term plan.

Those decisions are what turn a collection of programs into long-term training.

01Why does the next phase look different?
02What have you built that now needs to be retained?
03What weakness will limit the next phase if you ignore it now?
04When is a program no longer productive?

Every meaningful change should have a reason.

The decision system

The variables do not exist in isolation.

The difficult part of programming is understanding how they interact — and what one decision forces you to change elsewhere.

01 / 08

Repetition selection

Choose rep ranges for the trainee, the target quality and the comparative response — not by habit.

02 / 08

Sets, volume & fatigue

Create enough work to drive adaptation without compromising recovery or the next exposure.

03 / 08

Loading & progression

Select loading structures because they solve a problem, not because they look advanced.

04 / 08

Tempo & time under tension

Connect contraction emphasis, technical demand, fatigue and load inside the phase.

05 / 08

Exercise selection

Explain where the response is distributed — and why an exercise stays, progresses, regresses or leaves.

06 / 08

Structural balance

Develop limiting tissues and positions instead of letting the strongest strategy keep taking over.

07 / 08

Periodisation

Develop, retain and sequence qualities without random change, accommodation or unmanaged fatigue.

08 / 08

Building 12–52 weeks

Turn individual variables into a coherent macrocycle that can be assessed and adjusted.

Periodization Lab included

The course teaches the system. Periodization Lab gives you the infrastructure to use it.

Use the course to understand the programming logic. Use the software to organise and apply it after the room is packed down.

Access to Periodization Lab is included with registration.

Who this is for

For coaches who need to explain the next decision.

Personal trainers

Stop rebuilding each new block from scratch. Make the next decision before the previous phase finishes.

Strength & conditioning coaches

Organise qualities, structural work and specificity across a season or development period.

Online coaches

Use stronger logic to make large program volumes easier to explain, repeat and quality-control.

PT studio owners

Give multiple coaches a common language for repetitions, loading, exercise selection and periodisation.

Early-career coaches

Turn scientific foundations into the practical decisions required to build 12–52 weeks.

Strength sport coaches

Apply the principles wherever progressive strength training is expected to keep producing results.

Read this first

This is not a beginner exercise certification.

We are not spending two days teaching what a squat is.

  • The course assumes conventional resistance-training terminology and basic exercise execution.
  • The focus is why an exercise belongs in one phase rather than another.
  • You will work through what should happen to the rest of the program when one decision changes.

Why this course is different

Integration is the work.

Knowing hundreds of exercises is not the same as knowing how one decision supports the next level of the plan.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Do I need to coach athletes?

No. The programming logic applies to general-population clients, physique-focused clients and strength trainees as well as athletes.

Is this suitable for personal trainers?

Yes. If your clients train with progressive resistance and you need a stronger system for sequencing multiple phases, the content is relevant.

Is this suitable for experienced coaches?

Yes. The course goes beyond basic definitions into variable interaction, structural balance, exercise progression, loading methods and long-term sequencing.

Do I need to know periodisation already?

No formal prerequisite is required, but you should understand basic strength-training terminology and conventional program notation.

Is Periodization Lab included?

Yes. Access to Periodization Lab is included with registration.

Where is the course?

MELBOURNE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA — 5–6 DECEMBER 2026. Venue: TBC.

Can I use a buy-now-pay-later option?

There is no Coach Dale custom 3-pay plan. Eligible customers may be offered Afterpay, Klarna or Zip within the standard one-time Stripe checkout. Availability is determined by Stripe.
